This study supports the use of a myostatin inhibitor, Fortetropin®, to prevent disuse muscle atrophy in canine patients undergoing a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy.
The recommended dosing range of Fortetropin for cats was unknown prior to this study. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and tolerability of Fortetropin in 12 purpose-bred cats.
The purpose of this randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study was to evaluate the effects of Fortetropin, a nonthermal-pasteurized, freeze-dried, fertilized egg yolk product, on mobility in senior dogs.
A study by Sharp et al. evaluating Fortetropin supplementation showed promising results in both myostatin inhibition and muscle hypertrophy.
