Full Description

Read a peer-reviewed article about the brace here.

The Balto® Jump is designed to support one of the most common injuries in canines, Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) trauma. Affecting millions of patients annually, CCL injuries include:

  • Full or partial tearing of the ligament
  • Luxation of the patella
  • Knee joint conditions such as arthritis, arthrosis and varus/valgus instability

It can also be used as an alternative to surgery if the patient is not an ideal candidate, pre/postsurgical support, and contralateral support to prevent new injuries.

The Balto® Jump has two pockets which contain angled splints that help restrict the lateral movement, otherwise referred to as a drawer movement, of the knee when necessary. An abdominal band ensures the brace is secured around the dog. An additional stabilization strap is provided for more active animals.

The brace can also be used without splints for conditions such as arthritis and arthrosis. Compression helps increase blood pressure in the area, raising the temperature of the immediate area and helping to reduce pain.

Using the Balto® Jump on both the left and right knees can also help with cases related to:

  • Senior dogs as a result of general degenerative process
  • Overweight dogs dealing with high pressure on their good leg
  • Active dogs with an important compensation behavior

Features:

  • Removable aluminium splints
  • Straps can be trimmed for a secure and custom fit
  • High quality breathable fabric
  • Additional compression
  • Comfortable to wear
  • Hand washable (always remove the rigid splints before washing)
  • Available in 6 sizes and as left or right knee

Quick Tips

  • Allow up to two weeks for your pet to fully accept the brace
  • Wear the brace for 30 minutes a day, increasing 30 minutes each day after, for up to 12 hours
  • Consult your veterinarian for specific instructions on when to wear your brace
  • Remove the brace when your animal sleeps at night
  • Inspect your pet for signs of skin irritation. If any are present, contact your veterinarian
  • In addition to wiping the brace clean, keep skin and fur that comes into contact with the brace clean
  • Inspect your brace regularly for any damage

The brace itself is ok, the customer service is bad.

Brace didn't work for my dog, it would not fit her and the customer service rep kept stringing me along until my 30 days was expired, They now refuse to take their product back. Its not about the money, its a principal of them not returning their product after they refused to return my emails, and then the customer service person was rude when I brought it up to them.

I wouldn't purchase another product from here and I will take to my sister who owns a veterinary clinic and who referred me to this product saying she wanted to give them a try.

Buyer beware.

We are sorry that you had this experience. Unfortunately, we were not able to process your request because you reached out to us two months after your purchase (Feb. 9th, 2022). Per our Return Policy that was agreed to upon checkout and included with your order we cannot accept returns past 30 days. In your only correspondence with a customer service representative (April 8, 2022) you mentioned reaching out to us within the 30 day timeline. We could not find any communications as you mentioned. We said that we would honor your request if you were able to forward the request you had sent initially. Your only response to this is that you would leave a bad review. If you are able to locate the emails sent within the 30 days after purchase, we would be happy to have a return started for you!

Highly recommend, amazing customer service

Fantastic customer service and extremely accommodating. Our dog had an blind diagnosis of a partial tear and we wanted to get the brace as soon as possible. Concerned that we couldn’t get it quick enough to give her relief as soon as possible, I emailed to inquire how long the shipping would take after I placed my order. I emailed after hours and was contacted not too long after. They expedited my shipping free of charge after I said I may need to look into upgrading my shipping to get it sooner.

I have some troubles getting the brace on her. It never stays for me but my husband doesn’t seem to have an issue so I have him put it on.

I highly recommend this product from this company!

I noticed Janie limping and favoring her left hind leg. After taking her in to see Dr. Le, she was diagnosed with a luxating patella. We decided on the Balto Knee brace as an alternative to surgery. Janie has a medial patella luxation which means that her kneecap slides in and out of its socket, causing her to have difficulty in walking as well as discomfort and pain. Janie was a little skeptical of it at first, but as soon as she felt she was getting around better, she gave into it. I'm happy that's she is doing much better with it, and we'll avoid surgery for a while.

Precious came in limping and was found to have a cranial crucial tear in her right knee. Because of her age as well as budgetary limitations, she was not a good candidate for surgery, so a brace and good pain management with medications and laser therapy were chosen as an alternative option.

Upon the arrival of her brace, she appeared to have a significantly worse limp in her left hindlimb. Many times when a dog tears one cruciate ligament, they will tear the cruciate ligament in the opposite leg as well, which was what happened in Precious's case. We opted to place a brace on her left leg instead of the initial right she was presented for. She appears so much happier with the brace on.

Jersey had a lateral suture surgery for a torn ACL and needed some extra support during her recovery period. My vet recommended KVP Orthotics. We were very impressed with the reviews we read online and decided to try it out. Not disappointed at all. It was easy to fit on her with the help of our vet the first time, and she adjusted to it super fast. Thank you for providing Jersey with the support she needs for her recovery!
