The Balto® Jump Dog Knee Brace is a trusted, veterinarian-approved solution designed to stabilize your dog’s knee when injuries or chronic conditions affect their mobility. One of the most common injuries in dogs is a Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) tear, which can cause pain, limping, and long recovery times. Whether your pet is struggling with a full or partial CCL tear, a luxating patella (kneecap dislocation), arthritis, arthrosis, varus/valgus instability, or general knee weakness, the Balto® Jump provides advanced support to help them stay active and comfortable.

This brace is made from breathable, non-neoprene material that won’t trap heat or moisture against your dog’s skin. It’s lightweight yet durable, with washable components for easy cleaning so your pup can keep enjoying life while you keep their brace fresh. Designed alongside veterinary professionals, the Balto® Jump is a preferred choice for dogs who need stability, whether they are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or as an alternative to surgery.

Why pet parents choose the Balto® Jump:
  • Supports recovery from injuries and surgery: Helps stabilize the knee following common procedures such as TPLO, TTA, ELSS, or MPL, or can be used as a non-surgical alternative when surgery isn’t an option.
  • Helps with chronic knee conditions: Provides relief from arthritis, arthrosis, and ongoing knee pain by reducing strain and inflammation.
  • Adjustable, comfortable fit: Features adjustable upper and lower straps, plus a supportive abdominal band, so the brace stays secure even on active dogs.
  • Customizable support: Includes angled aluminum splints to limit harmful side-to-side motion when needed, or can be worn without splints for conditions like arthritis. An extra stabilization strap is provided for energetic or athletic dogs.
  • Vet-approved, dog-friendly design: Compression helps improve blood flow, easing stiffness and discomfort, while the non-neoprene material ensures all-day comfort.

The Balto® Jump can also be used for preventative support in healthy dogs, especially senior pets, overweight dogs, or highly active dogs who may overcompensate and strain their joints. Available in XX-Small through X-Large sizes (left or right orientation), there’s an option to fit nearly every breed and build.

With the Balto® Jump, your dog doesn’t have to sit out from the activities they love. It’s a proven way to give them the comfort, stability, and mobility they deserve.

  • Is the Left or Right orientation from my point of view, or my dog’s?
    • The orientation is your dog’s point of view, you can also distinguish this by standing behind them. For example, “right” is your dog’s right leg just as your (human) “right” leg is your right leg.
  • Does it come with straps?
    • Yes! All knee braces come with anchor kits, which make up all the straps needed to assemble the brace.
  • Do the straps fit the same way for females and males?
    • No, you will want to change the way the strap wraps under the body for the brace depending on your pet’s sex. Watch our video to see the best application for females or males.
  • How do I purchase a knee brace for both knees?
    • To purchase a bilateral knee brace, shop Bundles. Bracing both knees is an excellent way to support a second injured knee, or to support the healthy one that is bearing additional stress while the injured knee heals.
  • My dog does not wear collars, how do I attach the back strap?
    • The back strap can attach to either a body/ torso harness or a collar. For the best support, getting a collar or harness is advised. There are several more affordable options on online stores like Amazon or your local store that carries pet supplies.
  • I need to replace the straps, can I purchase more?
    • Absolutely! Visit Brace Parts to purchase separate anchor kits for the brace. Whether your pet chewed on the straps, they were lost, or you accidentally cut too short, spare parts are available for replacement on most braces.

A clean brace not only prevents infections, irritation, and a stinky smell; but it also allows your brace to last longer. To help support the longevity of your bracing device, here are some of our tips on how to properly clean your orthopedic bracing:

  1. Remove as much hair as possible from any Velcro® frequently to prevent compaction.
  2. Use lint roller or lightly adhesive tape to remove hair from the material of the brace.
  3. By hand, use warm water and a gentle cleansing soap to remove any stains and odors.
  4. Rinse soap thoroughly from the brace
  5. Hang to dry. Once the brace is completely dry, it is ready for use!

Speedy Service For Speedy Recovery

We can’t recommend Balto enough, they have been a phenomenal company to work with and came highly recommended by our Vet. We immediately knew things were going to go well when we had an error with our shipping and they quickly aided us in making sure the problem was addressed and fixed accordingly. So far the brace has been working amazingly with our little guy and cannot wait to see him back at full strength. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Works Great!

During a checkup it was discovered that my female Presa canario had some “changes to the knee” but no associated pain. Well, 2 months later she started limping and shifting her weight from that leg when standing. I got the brace and it took her a few days to get used to it, I also accidentally used the anchor kit for her instead of just wrapping around the belly like it says to do for female dogs. The anchor kit kept sliding off the leg. After applying it correctly and giving her a few days she got used to it and stopped limping throughout the day. Even after a nights sleep there’s less stiffness and no early morning limping which had lingered for a bit. Now, even when the brace isn’t on, she’s stopped limping!

I’m very grateful! Crate rest was driving her crazy but now she can go on controlled sniff walks again and is very happy. I will continue using it during the day and highly recommend! The only issue I’ve encountered is the brace sliding down her hock sometimes but she has a leg shape that’s very wide and round at the top that perhaps makes it hard for the brace to stay in the proper position. I apply the brace as high as I can and tighten it firmly but it slowly manages to slide down over time. Even with this issue it’s still been perfectly functional for us I just have to apply it tightly and check that it hasn’t slipped down throughout the day. It’s a balance between making sure the brace and harness portion isn’t too tight and reducing sliding.

Incredible!!

I got this for my 100lb female presa canario as soon as she started limping. I ordered some cheaper ones too until this one could arrive but no other ones offered the same support. The only problem I encountered was with the anchor kit sliding down the contralateral leg no matter how tight I made it- but this was remedied by just doing away with the anchor kit and using the alternative method of wrapping around the belly as demonstrated on the website. 10/10!!

Hi Abeni, thank you for your incredible review! We’re thrilled to hear the brace is giving your Presa Canario the support she needs. The anchor kit can be a bit tricky at times, so it’s great that the belly wrap method worked well for you. We truly appreciate your 10/10 rating and your trust in our products—please give your girl some extra love from us!

Great product!

I'm very happy with the balto leg brace for my dog. It helps support her luxating patella and I'm hoping for no surgery. I had to return the first one because it was too big and I had no problem with the exchange.
