We are going on a 3rd brace that my vet is going to order cause we need it , this brace it works but they do not last long . Unfortunately our Kodi has to wear it for the rest of his life to keep him stable and in less pain and able to get around . The brace works great until you have to wash it .. with every wash it starts falling apart , we ordered 2 through our vet and about too order the third cause he can’t go without it on so we switch them out , but I can’t leave the old one on him long til the hood one dries cause it doesn’t support proper no more .. it’s a shame it works for him it just needs to be made to last more than a few months .. I gave 2 stars because it does help him . Until it starts unstitching , I even sewed the first one so he could wear it til the second one dries .. we switch back forth between washes n I also put a tshirt under the brace because him wearing it a lot has caused him to have hair loss . So please just make a more durable brace … so I don’t have to keep buying new ones so often .

• Prior to washing your brace remove all splints (if any) and all hair and dirt.
• Carefully hand wash the brace with warm water and a gentle, diluted soap.
• Allow the brace to fully air dry before reapplying brace.
Excessive use, harsh cleaning, and accumulation of hair and dirt can wear down the materials of the brace. Make sure to wipe down the brace after each use and keep any body parts the brace encounters clean.

To be honest for this review, I haven't had the brace but two days. I really think this will help him a lot when he gets use to wearing it. My dog has celebella hypoplasia, so he already has a problem walking in the first place. But since his problem has to deal with both shoulders (like swimmers puppy sydrone) but in the front, I really hope the brace will help him walk better.. The only problem I have is he has long hair and it is a little difficult making sure I get all of his hair to lay down in the right direction as not to crinkle his coat. I do like that the product is very light weight and my dog doesn't seem to mind wearing it. But with CH, his brain doesn't work like normal dogs. The trick is making him think it is his idea to wear the brace. :)
I like this, but it did not come with instructions and have not been able to ask questions. Can he sleep with it on? How tight should it be? Do I loosen it when he lays down? An instructional booklet or video would be very helpful. I don’t use it as much as I should because I am worried about not doing it properly. Also, the fabric is a hair magnet. Dog is white so always looks a mess when wearing this.

This brace is extremely well made. Very durable, yet comfortable. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to use it because my best friend passed away. If I ever needed another brace for my other dogs, I would definitely return to Balto.
My dog hates the brace but we are getting better. He is 76lbs and his height is 24 in on the dot. I got the size for his weight so he is a bit short for it. But it is working.
